Margaret began her working life in
a printing office, specializing in the binding of books, Doug as a
salesperson with Myers before training as a teacher.
We began our married life fifty five years ago
at a one teacher school in country South Australia. This was followed by several
years of teaching in the city of Adelaide. We happily welcomed the arrival of
our four daughters and two sons during those years. And now to our great
delight, fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
We began our journey in the Scriptures many years ago,
studying with the Australian Bible Correspondence School.
Our service with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Papua
New Guinea saw the publishing of the Ewage New Testament for the 12,000 Ewage
speaking people of Oro Province in 1987, followed by a second printing in 1991
when the first edition sold out.
During our service with Wycliffe Doug also
studied with the Pacific College Of Graduate Studies, earning an MA in Missiology
from the William Carey University in Missouri USA, majoring in Bible and Cross
Cultural Communication.
Our children completed their school years in PNG at the Ukarumpa
International High School. They now follow their chosen careers in nursing,
teaching, tourism, and business in South Australia, New South Wales, and New
Zealand.
We are now living in the Resthaven Retirement Village in the
Adelaide Hills. We attend Holy Trinity Anglican Church in the city of Adelaide.
As we share our discoveries ...
"We pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you
trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's
marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's
people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love
really is."
(Ephesians 4:17-19)
